Why Join Interact?

The Interact club is an amazing opportunity for all high school students to join the wider NOVA and global community through mentorship with the Ashburn Rotary Club. Between professional lunch events, service days, breakfast with community leaders, and becoming more aware of social issues surrounding us, the BWHS Interact club has so much to offer to every student who is courageous enough to join us!

Service Opportunities

During the school year the club engages in multiple service days including working with the Boy Scouts to pack meals for Thanksgiving, to collecting backpacks for children in Kenya, to also assisting in the Loudoun Health and Wellness Expo. If you are passionate about service, join us!

Professional Mentorship

The Briar Woods Interact Club is officially sponsored by the Ashburn Rotary Club, a professional, service group made up of some of Loudoun County's most influential individuals including local politicians and executives. During the school year, events occur to meet with and network with the club's members; they really do love to assist the BWHS Interact club! Once mentorships have been established, previously students have been able to get college recommendation letters, internships, endorsements, and further support in professional and academic settings.

Career Exposure

Some of the members of the Rotary club include physicians in both private and public practice, real estate agents, CEOs, Executive Directors, Bank executives, lawyers, and more! During lunch meetings at the Rotary club, you are given direct access to these individuals to ask for advice, mentorship, and anything else you may want to learn more about.

The Ashburn Rotary club conducts weekly professional lunch meetings at the 529 Golf Club where speakers from around Northern Virginia come to present. In the past, the club has hosted politicians, hospital CEOs, LCPS school officials, authors, and more.
The Rotary Club also sponsors many events each year including fundraisers, drives, and more. For Interact students, the club hosts a $1000 scholarship for college and a $500 speech contest!
